Hello golfers,
One of the most regular duties of the Club Captain is to take part in the Captain/Pro challenge on a Sunday morning. Over the past year over 35 matches took place, with a wide range of results both for and against us being recorded. Last Sunday saw the culmination of these matches take place with all those achieving a win or half in Captain/Pro matches taking part in the Thai Cup and the pairings who suffered a defeat playing for the St Patrick's Plate. Jon Biggs and Ian Kendrick were the deserved winners of the Thai Cup with an excellent 40 points, while Steve Shew and Stuart Kirk claimed the St Patrick's plate with the same score. The sign-in sheet for the 2016/17 Captain/Pro Matches will be available from 7.30am at the Captain's Drive in this Sunday morning.
A quick reminder to you all that this year's AGM and Captain's Drive In take place this weekend. The AGM will be held on Saturday, 19 March at 5.30pm and will be followed by an AGM Party at 7.30pm. To book your tickets for the party which cost £10 per person please contact Sally in the Office.
Finally, please be aware that tomorrow sees the start of the March course maintenance programme which will involve aerating and sanding the greens. Simon and his team hope to have the work completed by in one day, however this may run into Friday if the weather is unkind to them. Although disruptive, the importance of tyning cannot be underestimated, for more information on why this work is carried out please click here.

Social Events
Coming up shortly there is:
St. Patrick' Day Dinner on Friday, 18 March. In what is one of the more lively evenings at the club, music will be provided by the Kilburn Cowboys along. Tickets cost £30 per person which includes dinner.
Andrew and his catering team will be running a series of Family Sunday Lunches throughout 2016. Special prices which include complimentary starters and desserts are on offer for all children under the age of 12. For more information on the dates available please

A Jazz evening will be held on Friday, 15 April with music from The Man Overboard Quintet. Tickets cost £18 for Jazz only and £35 for Jazz with a two course meal with the event open to members and their guests.
A theatre trip to see Sunny Afternoon, a hit musical based on music from The Kinks, which will take place on Wednesday, 20 April. Leaving the club at 12.30pm by coach there will be a matinee performance followed by a two course meal for £52 per person.

Shoe Fitting Day
On Saturday, 9 April we will be hosting a FootJoy shoe fitting day. For those of you thinking of investing in a new pair of shoes before the winter takes hold, this is the perfect opportunity to get your feet measured by a member of the FootJoy team to ensure you get the best fit possible. Due to the popularity of the events we held last year I would strongly advise booking an appointment as no guarantees can be made that you will be able to be seen on the day without one.
