Hello golfers,
The first Major of the year starts tomorrow and if you're anything like me you will be glued to the TV over the next four days. Picking a winner is almost impossible with so many of the world's best finding some form over the last few weeks. Many of you have taken part in our pro shop sweepstake and I hope you managed to pick the right name out of the hat come Sunday evening. For those of you wishing to watch the final round at the Club this Sunday, the bar and catering facilities will be open for the duration of Sunday's play. Andrew and his catering team will have a buffet supper on offer for £10 a person. If you wish to take advantage of this offer please notify them by email by clicking here.
Next week sees the first of the qualifiers for the Mid-week Stableford Final in October. To qualify, the leading players in each category (Cat one, Cat two and Cat three and four from each month), not otherwise exempt, will gain entry to the concluding event.
Work to the 6th tee is now complete after it's re-turfing last week. All that is needed now is some warm spring weather to help bed in the new turf before it can be opened for play. The tee has been relevelled, heightened and widened to provide a better looking and more even playing surface.
Entries are now open for this year's St. George's Day competition on Friday, 22 April. The Fourball betterball event will be open to members and their guests with the entry fees being £35 and £50 respectively. The day will consist of bacon rolls and coffee on arrival, 18 holes of golf followed by a rolling carvery, prize giving and live music in the evening. This year's Surrey County Cards have now been delivered and are ready to collect from the pro shop.

Social Events
Bookings are now being taken for this year's Summer Ball. The black tie event will take place on Saturday, 25 June, with the ticket price of £65 per person including a welcome drink, three course meal and live music from 'Uptown Funk'. Coming up shortly there is also:

A Jazz evening will be held on Friday, 15 April with music from The Man Overboard Quintet. Tickets cost £18 for Jazz only and £35 for Jazz with a two course meal with the event open to members and their guests.
A theatre trip to see Sunny Afternoon, a hit musical based on music from The Kinks, which will take place on Wednesday, 20 April. Leaving the club at 12.30pm by coach there will be a matinee performance followed by a two course meal for £52 per person.

Course Conditions
As we approach the summer months we expect the excellent playing surfaces and course conditions that we enjoy over the winter to continue into the golf season. In order to maintain the highest possible standards, can all members please ensure they repair their pitchmarks on the greens. When leaving a bunker can all rakes please be left with their handles outside of the sand. These small tasks will benefit everyone and ensure that Cuddington's greens remain looking their best all year round.
