Hello golfers,
Last Thursday a team of eight members led by Captain, Gareth Jones, took part in a new event held at the RAC Club. Played between ourselves, the RAC, Kingswood, Epsom and Banstead Downs, the Surrey Club's Trophy was eventually won by the home side with the Cuddington team finishing only a few points back in second place.
In May's mixed competition Alan Day snuck over the line beating both Chris Oliver and Barry Bolton on countback. After five events, Julia Brick, currently leads the way in the overall standings with 122 points from four competitions, with the trio of Nick Sergant, David Symons and Brian Phillips all tied on 102 points. Finally, next week sees the return of the ever popular Wednesday evening stablefords. To play simply sign-in at the pro shop from 4pm, with the entry fee of £1 going back into prizes. The kitchen will also be open later for those of you who wish to eat after golf, with Andrew and his team having many specials available including the traditional fish and chips option. Friends and family members are welcome to eat too - if you know you will definitely be dining please let the catering team know in advance either by phone or via email. We look forward to seeing you at the club this week.
Kind Regards,
Paul Schunter
Director of Golf & Operations

Sun Mountain Micro Cart Offer
With some warmer summer weather on it's way to us this week, hitting the fairways will soon seem much more appealing. For those of you looking for an alternative to carrying your bag, the Sun Mountain Micro Cart may be the answer. The Micro Cart folds away in two quick and simple movements and when folded, this trolley offers you a small compact package that is perfect for transportation and storage. This trolley is extremely easy to push due to its large diameter tyres and light aluminium frame making it perfect for strolling the fairways. For a limited time only, we will be giving away a FREE travel bag with any purchase of a Micro Cart, worth £35. Once again this offer will only run while stocks last.
It's time to get a grip!
As we head into the start of the golf season one area of a player's equipment that is quite often overlooked is the condition of their grips. Quite often we see grips that are:
- Smooth, with shiny patches and hard surfaces
- Cracked or split
- Show wear spots, especially where the thumbs make contact
- Faded or bare spots on grips that have been painted or have logos
- Complete loss of tack
Improperly sized grips, grips that aren't suited for certain weather conditions, grips that don't enhance playing ability and grips that are simply worn-out and slick will negatively impact your game and cost you strokes. Comfort, consistency, shot dispersion and shot distance can all be improved with new golf grips.
To help you get the best out of your grips we are currently offering 13 grips for the price of 10 on full sets, and seven grips for the price of six on a half set of re-grips while stocks last.
