Hello golfers,
Last week saw the ladies held their Spring Meeting in a mixture of conditions! After Tuesday's torrential rain, the ladies were treated to some more summery weather on Thursday. After Luan Skeates (gross 74), Sue Kennedy (gross 95/nett 72), Beverley Evans (nett 71) and Jan Robinson (nett 77) took the prizes on Tuesday, the Betterball event on Thursday was won convincingly by Shirley Eades and Penny Rattle who returned an excellent 43 point total.
On Saturday, the Cuddington Decanter took place with over 90 members teeing it up. Taking the top prize was the fourball of Dave Jenkins, Tom Howell, Shaun Amner and Mick Balcerkiewicz whose 91 point haul was good enough to win on countback from Barry Banfield, Neil Turk, Jon Bell and Mark Cleaver. Needless to say it was a late night/early morning for some, before the sun went down there was a chipping competition from the terrace which saw Cuddington's most efficient swinger Chris Williams fall foul of the old exploding golf ball trick.
Congratulations go to junior member, Monty Holcombe, who won the under 12's section in last weekend's Surrey Rookie Tour event at Shirley Park with a fantastic 46 points. Other notable performances came from Kris Kim (42 points), Lewis Dimayuga (38 points) and Edward Dimayuga (36 points). Well played boys.
Kind Regards,
Paul Schunter

Sun Mountain Micro Cart Offer
With some warmer summer weather on it's way to us this week, hitting the fairways will soon seem much more appealing. For those of you looking for an alternative to carrying your bag, the Sun Mountain Micro Cart may be the answer. The Micro Cart folds away in two quick and simple movements and when folded, this trolley offers you a small compact package that is perfect for transportation and storage. This trolley is extremely easy to push due to its large diameter tyres and light aluminium frame making it perfect for strolling the fairways.
For a limited time only, we will be giving away a FREE travel bag with any purchase of a Micro Cart (worth £35). Once again this offer will only run while stocks last.
It's time to get a grip!
As we head into the start of the golf season one area of a player's equipment that is quite often overlooked is the condition of their grips. Quite often we see grips that are:
- Smooth, with shiny patches and hard surfaces
- Cracked or split
- Show wear spots, especially where the thumbs make contact
- Faded or bare spots on grips that have been painted or have logos
- Complete loss of tack
Improperly sized grips, grips that aren't suited for certain weather conditions, grips that don't enhance playing ability and grips that are simply worn-out and slick will negatively impact your game and cost you strokes. Comfort, consistency, shot dispersion and shot distance can all be improved with new golf grips.
To help you get the best out of your grips we are currently offering 13 grips for the price of 10 on full sets, and seven grips for the price of six on a half set of re-grips while stocks last.
