Hello golfers,
Last week the club hosted the Surrey Amateur Championship over Friday, Saturday and Sunday with some of the county's best players teeing it up. After a grueling three days of golf, Hindhead's David Corben was crowned the champion after winning the final on the 19th hole. Of the Cuddington contingent Scott Mutter faired the best having made it as far as the first round of the knockout stages. All competitors gave the course a glowing reference. Congratulations to Simon and his team for all their effort in presenting the course so well.
The year's second Major title is now just on the horizon with the US Open set to take place at Oakmont next week and picking a winner is once again proving particularly difficult. With Jordan Spieth and Jason Day winning recently and Rory McIlroy and Dustin Johnson having good finishes at last week's Memorial Tournament, the stage is set for another epic week of Major Championship golf.
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that Paul Clarke has achieved the position of Senior Golf Professional at Leatherhead Golf Club. Paul has contributed much to Cuddington over the past 20 years and will be sorely missed, especially for his dedication and support to the junior section. We would like to invite you to the club house on Thursday, 9 June from 7pm where we will have a few drinks and wish Paul all the best. Should anyone like to contribute towards a leaving present please either contact the office or bar.
Please be aware that this Friday sees the Vets Summer meeting take place. As a result both tees will be closed from 8am - 9.15am and also between 10am and 11.30am while they turn onto their back nines.
Kind Regards,
Paul Schunter

Pro V1 Limited Edition '68' ball
Titleist marks the continuation of golf's longest running success story as the 68th consecutive year of being the #1 ball at the US Open with launch of Limited Edition '68' stamped golf balls. We have a limited number of both the Pro V1 and Pro V1x models which are available at the regular price of £42 per dozen. Make sure you grab yours while stocks last!
It's time to get a grip!
As we head into the start of the golf season, one area of a player's equipment that is quite often overlooked is the condition of their grips. Quite often we see grips that are:
- Smooth, with shiny patches and hard surfaces
- Cracked or split
- Show wear spots, especially where the thumbs make contact
- Faded or bare spots on grips that have been painted or have logos
- Complete loss of tack
Improperly sized grips, grips that aren't suited for certain weather conditions, grips that don't enhance playing ability and grips that are simply worn-out and slick will negatively impact your game and cost you strokes. Comfort, consistency, shot dispersion and shot distance can all be improved with new golf grips.
To help you get the best out of your grips we are currently offering 13 grips for the price of 10 on full sets, and seven grips for the price of six on a half set of re-grips while stocks last.
