Hello golfers,
Golf made a return at the Olympic Games for the first time in 112 years last week. Despite many questioning golf's involvement at Rio, the tournament produced a gripping finish with Team GB's Justin Rose claiming the gold medal after a final day tussle with Open Champion Henrik Stenson. Tomorrow sees the Ladies event begin with Charley Hull and Catriona Matthew flying the flag for Great Britain.
Closer to home, Enrique Dimayuga has continued his winning streak after winning the James Heath Trophy in the Surrey U15's Championship at West Surrey last Thursday. His score of 150 for 36 holes was almost good enough to claim the U16's title too, however Enrique finished a few shots shy in that event and finished as runner-up. Well played Enrique!
Good luck to all of you taking part in Captain's Charity day this Saturday. At the moment we have over 100 golfers teeing it up raising funds for Prostate Cancer Research through the Institute of Cancer Research.

Start times
To alleviate congestion on the first tee on mid-week competition days, we will be trialling some amended tee times for the next scheduled event on Wednesday, 14 September. By releasing some of the underutilised competitor's only times in the morning, we hope to reduce the amount of games forced to start on the 10th tee that have to filter in with those starting on the 1st tee after nine holes. Social Events
As we head into the second half of 2016, the following social events are now fast approaching:
Friday, 23 September - Celebrate with Tapas, Flamenca Dancing and Music at our Spanish Evening. "Fiesta Flamenca" will provide a wonderful display of Flamenco dance and guitar combined with Latin American songs. Tickets cost £38 per person.

Vokey and Scotty Cameron Fitting Day
On Friday, 26 August we will be hosting a Fitting Day for both Vokey SM6 wedges and Scotty Cameron putters between 2pm and 6pm. Both Vokey wedges and Scotty Cameron putters are considered some of the finest in the game and are used by many of the world's top players. Our Titleist rep Danny Osborne will be on hand with a wide range of wedges and putters to try, and he will go through the fitting process with you to ensure you get the best club for you in your hands.
