Hello golfers,
Last week saw the British Masters take place at the Grove near Watford, with a number of the European Tour's top players on show including many of this year's Ryder Cup team. Swede Alex Noren claimed his third win in eight starts after rounds of 67, 65, 65 and 69 gave him an 18-under-par total and a two shot victory. The course and the event received unanimous praise from all who attended; hopefully the event can grow to become one of the stand out events on the Tour's schedule.
Congratulations go to Richard Rust for winning the Vets Rumble Nugent Cup Singles Knockout, beating Tony Butler in the Final. This Saturday sees Peter Kearsey take on Cliff Ward in the Men's Annual Singles Final. Good luck to you both!
As we move into the winter months we will be removing the Green Tees on a trial basis. The timing of this will coincide with winter rules taking effect from Sunday, 30 October. Originally the Green Tees were introduced at Cuddington Golf Club at a time when play from the white tees outside of competitions was forbidden. Their introduction was simply so that members could play a course closer to the medal tees on a daily basis. In 2010 the club rules were amended to allow general play outside of competitions from the white tees. With this change, outside of competitions, the white tees then crept forwards to enable the green staff to spread the wear and tear and give our teeing areas time to recover. Ultimately, with the white tees moving forwards, the green tees also moved forwards and then in turn the yellow markers also moved forwards. I must stress that the removal of the green tees is on a trial basis and we do invite any views on their planned removal.

Social Events
As we head into the final part of 2016, the following social events are now fast approaching:
Christmas Party Night - Friday, 9 December. This popular event returns providing the perfect place to have an early Christmas gathering or company staff party. Tickets cost £40 per person which includes Bucks Fizz on arrival, a two course buffet meal and a disco until 12:00pm.
New Year's Eve party - Countdown to the New Year with friends at Cuddington Golf Club and join our informal fun evening on Saturday, 31 December. Tickets are £40 per person which includes a glass of bubbly and canapés on arrival, a two course buffet meal, a disco from 8:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m and plenty of fun!
Club and Family Christmas Lunches. This year the Family Christmas lunch will take place on Sunday, 4 December, tickets cost £28 for adults and £13.50 for children under the age of 12. Santa is scheduled to make an appearance along with our children's entertainer. The Club Christmas lunch will take place a week later on Sunday, 11 December, with tickets again costing £28 per person. Spaces for both events are filling up fast so please book your tables as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
