Hello Golfers,
Now that the clocks have changed and the nights are drawing in its safe to say that winter will unfortunately be upon us soon. However, we are blessed with a fabulous winter course meaning we can enjoy golf all year round unlike many local clubs. Simon and his team are taking advantage of this "quieter" time of the year by levelling and reshaping both the back and right hand tee on the 8th hole. This will provide a flatter, more consistent playing surface next season. The area will not be re-turfed until the spring to allow the earth to settle over the winter, allowing any minor adjustments to be made before the turf is laid.
Congratulations to Chris and Julie Kennedy who won the play-off for the Christie Cup Mixed Foursomes last week. Their 35 point total was good enough to defeat Jon & Deidre Biggs and take the title, well played Team Kennedy!
For those of you who currently use the member's area of the website frequently, you may have noticed that the competition and fixture list for 2017 is now available to view in the diary section. These entries will be included in the main club diary for 2017 which is currently being printed and is due for delivery in early December.
Finally, please note that winter rules have commenced as of Sunday, 30 October. This entitles you to lift, clean and place you ball within six inches of its original position on any closely mown surface.

The Club Christmas lunch will take place on Sunday, 11 December, with tickets costing £28 per person which includes a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. There are only a few spaces remaining so please make sure you sign-up fast if you wish to attend.

Titleist 917 Range
Titleist have announced their new line up for drivers and fairway woods, with the 917 range now available for fitting ahead of their launch later this month. The 917 models benefit from a new SureFit CG moveable sole weight which is the result of a five year research process. This weighting system, along with the SureFit hosel, allows for precise fitting and fine tuning the performance of the club to find the optimum ball flight for the golfer. Both the drivers and the fairways are available in two models (D2 and D3 plus F2 and F3) which offer different design profiles and performance characteristics.

New Callaway Products
We now have in stock the brand new Callaway Big Bertha Fusion woods and irons along with a new range of Steelhead XR irons. Callaway engineers have pioneered a new "recipe for ultimate forgiveness" which includes a forgiving shape, a low and deep center of gravity, an enhanced sweet spot area, and multiple shaft lengths in the Fusion woods producing the most forgiving driver Callaway has ever created.
