I hope you all had an excellent Christmas and New Year, I for one am looking forward to what 2017 has to offer! Over the Christmas break there was still plenty happening at the club. On New Year's Eve we saw Mark Barnham crowned Gent's Golfer of the Year after neither Jamie Warriner nor Vincent Petrozzi could record a top 10 finish in the final competition of the year to catch him. Congratulations Mark!
On Christmas Eve the Pro Shop Draw took place, many thanks again to all of you who supported the draw. Rob Pearce took the top prize of a set of PING G irons worth £600, with 12 prizes in total on offer. For a full list of winners please click here.
The 2017 club diaries have now been delivered to us and are ready for collection from the club office, pro shop or spike bar. Please note that you will need your member's swipe card on you when collecting your diary so we can register your collection on our system.
This Friday sees the club host a special event to raise funds for the junior team's trip to the Home Nation's Inter-Club Final in Portugal. Iain Carter (BBC Golf Correspondent) will be talking to Ross Fisher (Five time European Tour winner and part of the winning 2010 Ryder Cup team) from 6.30pm. Junior Christmas Cup and AGM
Shortly before Christmas, the juniors held their final event of the year with two players looking to claim the Order of Merit title. Oliver Hunt (pictured with Ladies Captain Debbie Murray) was able to hang on to the lead he had going into the final event to clinch the title from Luke Chapman. Matthew Kim claimed the AGM Cup, whilst Monty Holcombe collected the Christmas Cup. The junior section enjoyed a great 2016, with many other prizes being awarded on the day to celebrate these achievements over the past 12 months. The Junior Christie Cup team have already started their 2017 campaign with an excellent win away to Effingham last week by 73 points to 68. Well played to all the juniors - keep up the good work for 2017!

Division Two - First place - Ryan Howard (40 points) and in second place - Martin Breeden (39 points).

Junior OOM One
First place - Sam Wallace (42 points), second place - Luke Chapman (40 points, on countback) and in third place - Calum McAnulty (40 points).
Social Events
A new year means plenty more chances to enjoy one of the many social events we have lined up at Cuddington this year:
On Friday, 27 January we will be holding our Burns Night Celebrations. Traditional Burns Fayre will be served followed by some Ceilidh-Scottish Country Dancing. Tickets cost £35 per person - the wearing of kilts is optional but highly encouraged.
This year's Men's Annual Dinner will take place on Friday, 3 February. The black tie event will include a three course meal followed by entertainment from comedian Ian Irving. The event is open to members and their guests with tickets costing £50 per person.
We are pleased to announce that we have been able to secure tickets to see The Girls at The Phoenix Theatre in May next year. The Girls is the true story of the Yorkshire Calendar Girls, a group of ordinary ladies who achieved something extraordinary. This new musical comedy brings together the writing talents of Gary Barlow and Tim Firth (Calendar Girls, Kinky Boots), who grew up in the same village in the North of England, and have been friends for 25 years. Titleist 917 Range
Titleist have announced their new line up for drivers and fairway woods, with the 917 range now available for fitting ahead of their launch later this month. The 917 models benefit from a new SureFit CG moveable sole weight which is the result of a five year research process. This weighting system, along with the SureFit hosel, allows for precise fitting and fine tuning the performance of the club to find the optimum ball flight for the golfer. Both the drivers and the fairways are available in two models (D2 and D3 plus F2 and F3) which offer different design profiles and performance characteristics.
