Hello golfers,
Last week saw our first snowfall of the winter, and due to the course's elevated position it took almost three days to clear unlike many surrounding areas. As pretty as the snow is, I am pleased to say we are now back up and running, please keep an eye on the club website for the most up-to-date course status information which we aim to have updated by 7.30am on days where the weather may cause disruption to the playing surfaces.
During the course closures last week, Chris headed into the Swing Studio to test some of the newest drivers that have been released onto the market this year. The results were interesting to say the least, you can took a look at what he found by clicking here.
Entries are now open for both the Men's Annual Singles and the Dainty Cup, with the closing date being next Friday, 27 January. To enter please add your name to the sign-in sheet on the main noticeboard, or if you are unable to make it to the club in person please reply to this email.
The 2017 club diaries have now been delivered to us and are ready for collection from the club office, pro shop or spike bar. Please note that you will need your member's swipe card on you when collecting your diary so we can register your collection on our system.
We look forward to seeing you at the club this week.
Kind Regards,
Paul Schunter

It's time to get Epic!
In a bumper week of deliveries, we have also received our fitting kit for the new Callaway Epic driver which has been put into play by Rory McIlroy for this week's South African Open. The Epic driver boats many new technologicval advances, and in particular it benefits from new Jailbreak Technology, which essentially changes the way the head and clubface behave at impact to deliver more ball speed and distance. Jailbreak is two strong titanium bars behind the face, parallel to each other and connected on either end to the crown and sole. The size, strength and location of each Jailbreak bar work together to reduce how much the crown and sole deflect, forcing the face to take on more of the load created at impact than ever before. This results in faster ball speeds across the entire face offering more consistent distances, even on miss-hits.
