Hello golfers,
It was great to see local side Sutton United continue their marvellous run in the FA Cup after beating Leeds United last weekend. Their reward is now a home tie against Arsenal next month - can their giant killing run continue? On Saturday the draws for both the Men's Annual Singles and Dainty Cup were made, with some potential giant killing ties of our own lined up already! To view the Singles draw please click here, and for the Dainty draw click here. Alternatively both are available to view when you log in to the members' area of the website. The deadline for the first round of matches in both events is Sunday, 19 March.
Meanwhile it has been a busy week in the pro shop as many of the new products that are new for 2017 begin to arrive. We have taken delivery of the recently launched TaylorMade M series of drivers and fairway woods, the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf ball, the FootJoy Energize, HyperFlex 2.0 and DNA 2017 models as well as Callaway's updated Mack Daddy wedges.
I would like to bring your attention to two upcoming fitting days. On Thursday, 23 February the Callaway team will be here from 2:00pm - 6:00pm with their new Epic and Fusion drivers available for fittings, which Chris found impressive in his recent driver testing. Click here to read more. A week later on Thursday, 2 March it is Mizuno's turn, with appointments available from 1:00pm - 5:00pm that day. To book your spot at their event please contact a member of the pro shop team or click here.
Kind Regards,

New Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x Balls
The 2017 Titleist Pro V1 golf balls are now on sale, with plenty of changes inside the ball that make their performance even better than before. The new 2017 Titleist Pro V1 features a Next Generation 2.0 ZG Process Core that benefits from a new formula that generates lower spin and faster ball speeds, with the biggest spin reductions noticeable in the long game. The number of dimples on both balls hasn't changed, but the cast in which the dimples are created are now laser-etched meaning improved dimple consistency ball-to-ball. As a result, golfers can expect a more aerodynamically consistent ball flight and a tighter peak-height window on each shot's apex. The Pro V1's cover will also continue to deliver great short-game performance with long-lasting durability thanks to a soft Urethane Elastomer that is precisely formulated to deliver control with soft feel. How do you know which Titleist ball is right for you? Let Titleist help you out a bit by clicking here. The balls remain priced at £12 per sleeve or £42 per dozen.
TaylorMade has arrived!
I am pleased to say that our TaylorMade demo stock has now arrived and is ready for custom fitting, before they officially launch at the end of January. The range includes the updated M1 and M2 drivers, fairways and hybrids, along with the M2 irons. With many of the world's best players putting the new woods and irons into play immediately, there is no doubt that this year's M family of products will be very popular.

It's time to get Epic!
In a bumper week of deliveries, we have also received our fitting kit for the new Callaway Epic driver which has been put into play by Rory McIlroy for this week's South African Open. The Epic driver boats many new technological advances, and in particular it benefits from new Jailbreak Technology, which essentially changes the way the head and clubface behave at impact to deliver more ball speed and distance. Jailbreak is two strong titanium bars behind the face, parallel to each other and connected on either end to the crown and sole. The size, strength and location of each Jailbreak bar work together to reduce how much the crown and sole deflect, forcing the face to take on more of the load created at impact than ever before. This results in faster ball speeds across the entire face offering more consistent distances, even on miss-hits.
