Hello golfers,
Masters week is here... In what is arguably the most anticipated week in the golfing calendar, the season gets off to a bang as the world's best hit the fairways at Augusta National in the first Major of 2017. Many are looking to world number one Dustin Johnson to continue his fine recent results and claim the Green Jacket on Sunday, but don't count many other players who may sneak under the radar like Danny Willet did last April. Spaniard John Rahm and our own Ross Fisher must be considered good outside bets considering their recent hot form.
Closer to home I am pleased to say that work has now finished on the pathways in and around the clubhouse, and what an improvement they are. There is still some turfing and filling to do by Simon and his team on the path edges, however I'm sure you will all agree that the new surfaces are a vast improvement.
I would like to draw your attention to a Charity Day that is being played at the club this Friday, 7 April which is raising funds for World War Two veterans and their trip back to the beaches of Normandy. As a result both tees will be closed from 10:20am until approximately 3:00pm as there is a two tee start scheduled at 10:30am for 120 golfers.
Kind Regards,
Paul Schunter
Director of Golf & Operations
