Hello golfers,
What a difference a week makes! Last Wednesday we were drowned in rain, however I much prefer the sunshine we receive today. The course is looking magnificent ahead of this weekend's Club Championships, with almost 100 golfers taking to the course in the men's, ladies and juniors' events. For those not competing in the Championships, the course is open for general play on Saturday from the 10th tee between 12:30 and 1:35pm in two and three balls only. These times must be booked in advance by contacting the pro shop. The 1st tee will re-open for all matches including four balls from 3:00pm. On Sunday morning tee times are available as per usual using the tee sheet on the main club noticeboard and we anticipate the course reopening around 4:30pm once all matches have turned on Sunday afternoon.
You may have noticed that the 8th tee has now re-opened, Simon and his team have done a fantastic job in re-shaping and levelling the surfaces there. Their patience and dedication has paid off over the winter months, so there can be no more excuses for missing the green! As we head into the busy period of the season, can all members be vigilant with repairing pitchmarks, divots and bunkers as you play. With everyone's help the condition of the course will only improve as we head through the year.
For those of you going to Wentworth over the next few days you are in for a treat. Chris visited on Tuesday afternoon and said the changes made are looking great, with the players raving about the new layout.
