Hello golfers,

It was a busy week for the Surrey Golf Union last week with Cuddington members taking part in both the Surrey Amateur Championship and the Surrey Seniors' Championship. Ian Booker won the over 65's category at the Seniors after rounds of 77 and 78. In the Amateur Championship Enrique Dimayuga successfully navigated the 36 hole strokeplay qualifier after shooting 70 and 71 last Friday. However he was eventually beaten in the Quarter Finals of the matchplay stage by Roehampton's Alfie Fox.

We had a bumper turnout of 44 players for the Generations Cup on Sunday, which sees juniors and ex-juniors team up with their relatives in a foursomes event. The winners of Category A (Junior and adult relation - Both members) were Simon and Henry Bale (pictured) who returned an impressive 41 points. Category B (Ex-junior and adult relation - Both members) was won by Steve and Matt Shew, Category C (Junior and adopted parent) by Eddie Bolton and Joe Scrivens while Luke and Neil Chapman won Category D (Junior and adult guest).

Please be aware of a few important tee reservations over the coming days. On Friday the Vets hold their summer meeting which utilises both tees from 8:15am - 9:15am. This also means that no starts will be permitted as matches turn at around 10:00am - 11:00am (1st tee) and 10:15am - 11:15am (10th tee). Saturday sees Captain's Charity Day take place, with the course closed between 12:00pm and 4:30pm. There will be start times available for nine holes only between 11:15 and 11:45am from the first tee after the morning starters have turned.

Kind Regards,
Paul Schunter
