Hello golfers,
This year's Captain's Charity Day was a huge success at the weekend with nearly £16,000 raised towards Ian's chosen charity The Samaritans. There were 96 golfers who took to the course, with the team of Martin Breeden, David Greaves, Ian Bosley and Dave Bosley winning the team event with an impressive 94 points in breezy conditions. Many thanks to all that competed, bid on auction items or donated prizes into the charity raffle which helped to raise such a fantastic amount for a very worthy cause.
This week sees the second major of the year take place, with the US Open starting tomorrow. The USGA have once again picked a new course to host the event (Erin Hills was only opened in 2006), hopefully they can avoid the controversy that has dogged the last two Opens which included the penalty handed to Dustin Johnson last year and the greens at Chambers Bay the year before. Good luck to Cuddington member Ross Fisher who tees off at 2:00pm UK time tomorrow afternoon.
Congratulations go to Club Champion Scott Mutter who has continued his good run of form winning Rochester & Cobham Parks Men's Scratch Open last week. Scott fired rounds of 74 and 66 to win by two shots. Also claiming a win last week were Captain Ian Cochrane and Gareth Jones who won the men's division at last week's Banstead Downs Trophy. Well played gents!
Kind Regards,
Paul Schunter

Limited Edition Pro V1 and Pro V1x Balls
To celebrate the fact that they have been the number one golf ball brand at the last 69 US Open events, Titleist have released a limited edition US Open Pro V1 golf ball stamped with the number 69. The packs are presented in a limited edition box and deliver the same excellent performance that has made it the number one golf ball over the past 17 years.
Whatever your handicap you can benefit from using the 2017 Pro V1. Titleist have continued to use their "Drop-and-Stop" greenside control technology to deliver a very soft feel for enhanced shot-making precision. To improve carry distances in the longer clubs in the bag the new Pro V1 produces lower spin and a penetrating trajectory that will be more stable in windy conditions. The balls retail at the usual price of £12 a sleeve or £42 a dozen, so grab yours while stocks last!
