I hope many of you have had a chance to get out on the course over the last week. The grass has been growing quickly and as a result the definition has really started to stand out. The course wouldn’t be able to take this quick shape without Simon and his team continuing to do a fantastic job week in week out. A couple of other things they have been carrying out now include redistributing all the sand in the bunkers, cutting the greens at 2.7mm every day as well as a full course cut every three days. Over the next fortnight, the course will have a ‘wall to wall’ spray for weeds.
Chris Jones and Peter Kearsey played the second round of the Kelso Hamilton (Surrey 4BBB Knockout), on Saturday, away at Roehampton. Having gone two down, they were one up at the turn, and finished the game 3 and 2. The next round will be away against either Banstead or Coulsdon Court.
Finally, congratulations to Tana Churchill who made a hole-in-one on the 8th hole last Saturday, describing it as ‘Two small hops and in!' Well done Tana. We hope to see many of you up at the course this weekend. Please note sign-up sheets for the Club Championships and Scratch Knockout are now on the board as well so be sure to get your names on them! The handicap limit for both is 13 and below.
Best regards, Paul Schunter, Director of Golf & Operations. |
