I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather.
The Gents Invitation Day held last Sunday was a success and it was nice to hear so much praise for our club from the guests. Jameel Cockar and Errol Allen won with 45 points whilst in second place was Mark Blight and Randy Payne on 44 points.
Our Pro Am is completely full for Sunday, 8 July and has now become one of the biggest Pro Ams' in the PGA South Region with a £10,000 prize fund. The Surrey Open which is one of the main PGA Order of merit events within the region will then be contested on Monday, 9 and 10 July and spectators are welcome. There is a full field and the competition should be fierce.
The Wednesday evening stablefords’ have really taken off again this year, once again it is great to see everyone out there playing golf before enjoying the suppers that Andrew and his team do so well. Last Wednesday Andy Spicer became the latest member to achieve a hole in one this year when he aced the 16th hole.
With the hot weather and the increased number of rounds please spare a thought for our green staff as they go about their jobs. It is necessary to hand water the greens during the day at the moment and whilst they try to stay out of the way it is sometimes impossible to avoid some minimal interference. The watering is imperative so please be mindful when playing.
We all love our course to be played in the best possible conditions and have a duty to do our bit whilst playing. Unfortunately, the number of unrepaired pitchmarks and unraked bunkers is a little alarming at the moment so please spare a thought for your fellow members and repair your pitchmarks and rake the bunkers carefully after playing form the sand.
With the current weather please ensure that you have enough water with you when you play as it is very hot out there. I hope you enjoy your week ahead. Best regards,
Paul Schunter, Director of Golf & Operations.

Which bracket do you fall in? |
There’s one thing that you'll always need in abundance when playing golf and that’s balls - and plenty of them. Each golf ball we sell offers different levels of feel and performance at varying price points, meaning we have something to offer all playing preferences and budgets. |
| Bang for your buck Balls at a cheaper price point usually have one key performance benefit rather than offering a little of everything. This Callaway Warbird follows the trend by offering maximum distance with your longer clubs thanks to its aerodynamic dimples and high-energy core, giving you lots of power for little expenditure. |
| The all-rounder If you’re looking for more balanced performance through the bag but without the premium price tag, this Callaway Supersoft ball is designed to be long, straight and soft. It doesn’t spin as much as the Chrome Soft, but its low compression core helps create long, high flights that land softly. |
| Tour performance The saying 'you get what you pay for' certainly applies when it comes to golf balls. Callaway's Chrome Soft is their premium option, and it's easy to see why, with a soft urethane cover for short-game spin and a graphene-infused core that boosts ball speed and provides more iron control. |
