Congratulations to Ashley Greenslade who recorded a hole in one on the 8th hole on Saturday morning. Using a 5-iron back into a stiff breeze, Ashley's playing partners said the ball never looked like going anywhere else!
Further congratulations go to Kevin Lee who successfully negotiated the Regional Qualifier for the Junior European Open last week at Lingfield Park. As a result, Kevin will now tee it up at Finca Cortesin (the home of the Volvo Matchplay Championship) in the Grand Final which will be held later this year. Well done Kevin!
Tables at this year's Summer Ball are almost sold out already. Sally is urging anyone that wants to attend but hasn't yet booked a table to do so urgently. The evening consists of welcome drinks, a three course meal and live music and will be held on Saturday, 20 June.
Wednesday, 20 May sees the start of the 9 hole Stableford and Supper evenings which have proved very popular in the past. The kitchen will now be open until 9pm every Wednesday until September and will offer a set menu each week which will include favourites such as fish and chips and steaks. The food service is also open to member's families and guests with Andrew asking those who require a table for food to please book in advance. For those taking part in the golf please register in the pro shop from 4pm onwards. The entry fee will be £1 and will go towards prizes.
Finally there is still time to play in this Friday's Cuddington Decanter. The format is a betterball stableford from 1pm with a two course dinner after play. If you would like to play but haven't yet entered, please click here to contact the pro shop as soon as possible.
Looking after your golf course
As the weather improves and the days are getting longer we would like to remind you all of a few housekeeping issues to keep the course in pristine condition throughout the year. Please can everyone ensure they rake bunkers having played from them. The picture below was taken early on Saturday afternoon on the 6th after only members had been on the course all day. Members are also reminded that practicing on the course is only allowed during quiet periods and that a maximum of two balls may be in play at any one time.
