Next week sees the final major of the season take place at Whistling Straights as the world's best players compete for the USPGA Championship. Picking a winner is proving tricky after many strong showings in last week's WGC Bridgestone Invitational, which was won by Irishman Shane Lowry after he produced some miraculous recovery shots coming down the stretch on Sunday. With Rory McIlroy back in action following his ankle injury maybe the old saying of "beware the injured golfer" applies? Or will another Brit claim the title with Justin Rose looking to capture his second major?

Defibrillator
The club has now taken delivery of a defibrillator which will located behind the bar in case of someone at the club suffering a heart attack. Given that it is possible an inexperienced rescuer may need to act as the first person on scene in an emergency, the fully automatic device gives voice and text prompts that coach the rescuer throughout each CPR cycle. Although we hope not to have to use the defibrillator, please be aware of its location if it is required.
Sign In Sheets
Starting on Monday, 17 August we will be trialling a new system where members will be asked to sign in with the pro shop before heading out onto the course. While tee times will not be available to book in advance, this system will give us a better idea of who is on the course at any given time which will help us manage the flow of the course during busy periods and to advise other members of the best time to start later in the day.
