Ellie's Day

Last Thursday saw many members take part in "Ellie's Golf Day", held in aid of a young girl called Ellie who suffers from Dravet Syndrome. Organised by Tony Eason, almost 90 golfers took to the course raising money in aid of Dravet Syndrome UK which helps support both children and adults who suffer from this neurological condition.

The eventual winners were visitors Dave Daniels & Tony Allen with a mammoth score of 50 points with over £3,000 raised on the day to help aid research and fund treatment of the condition which will benefit not only Ellie but many others across the country.

RAF Battle of Britain Anniversary Raffle

Courtesy of Glenbrae who supply our club logo'd shirts and sweaters, we currently have a fantastic prize to be won.

For the small entry fee of £2, you can enter a raffle to win a limited edition scarf which commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

All entries will then go into a national draw on September 15th where one lucky winner will win the chance to take a flight in a Tiger Moth plane. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.

Please visit the Pro Shop to enter!

Captain's Prize and Charity Day

Entries are now open for this year's Captain's Prize and Charity day which will be held on Saturday 19th September. The 4 ball better ball event is open to all members (including 5 day members) and their guests with all green fees being waived for the afternoon.

The cost for the day will be £30 per person which includes a two course dinner, prizes and a donation to Peter's chosen cause which this year is the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. There are currently some fantastic prizes lined up such as a 3 night stay at Quinta do Lago including golf and spa treatments.

Make sure you enter soon using the sign in sheet on the main noticeboard to book your spot for one of the most popular days in the club diary!

Vice-Captain/Pro Matches

My assistant Chris Corry and Vice-captain Gareth Jones have had many good matches throughout the summer in the Vice-captain Pro Challenge. Extra dates for matches throughout September and October have now been added. If you would like to play please either add your name to the match sheet in the Men's locker room or contact Chris in the Pro Shop.

Sign In Sheets

Members are reminded to please sign in at the Pro Shop before heading out onto the course. While tee times will not be available to book in advance (apart from Saturday & Sunday mornings as per usual), this system will give us a better idea of who is on the course at any given time which will help us manage the flow of the course during busy periods and to advise other members of the best time to start later in the day.
