Paul Terry Memorial Trophy
On Saturday the club took on neighbours Banstead Downs to play for the Paul Terry Memorial Trophy. The annual match is played over 36 holes with one round at each course. Over the day the 20 man Cuddington team were too strong for their opponents, running out winners by 13 points to 7.
Match play results
Last Wednesday the final of the men's annual singles was played as Dave Symons and Farro Jalalpour took to the course in a 36 hole final. As it turned out, 36 holes wasn't enough as both players kept pegging each other back throughout the day with Dave finally closing out the tie on the 37th. Entries are now also open for some of the winter match play events. Those wishing to participate in either the Dutch Cup (Men's foursomes) or Snell Salver (Mixed Foursomes) can do so by signing up using the sheets on the main noticeboard. Entries for both events close on Sunday, 4 October.
Junior News
Following on from their fine win in last week's semi-final, the Cuddington "B" team took on Farleigh Court at Pyrford in the final of the Rookie League. In an incredibly close match, Farleigh won after a sudden death play-off to take home the title. Congratulations to the "A" and "B" teams for a fantastic effort yesterday and in all their matches throughout the summer.
Holes-in-one
There have been a few holes in one in the last few weeks which need mentioning. During the play-off for the Scratch Prize Scott Mutter achieved an ace on the 8th hole, while during last week's Ladies Autumn meeting Chris Tribe also found the cup in one shot on 11th. Congratulations to both players!
